Each month Bluegrass Wednesdays begins with a 2 hour concert followed by a jam session. Always a good time - always a good crowd!
It all began with the desire to promote the great jams we have at Bluegrass Wednesdays, at Red Bird, and an opportunity to put together a “live performance jam” on the Back 40 this spring, live from the corner of Bank St and Fourth Ave. As host of CKCU’s Back 40 show for that edition, Pat Moore decided to hand pick some of the folks who both are experienced on stage, and come out to the jams which take place after the concerts. There are so many great players to choose from, and here’s who we came up with:
Andy McGuire on guitar & vocals (Bluegrass Junction)
Reid Warren on fiddle & Vocals (East Tennessee State University Bluegrass Pride Band)
Kevin Golka on mandolin & vocals (Concession 23 / Maple Hill)
Nick Strachan on guitar & vocals (Concession 23)
Larry Miller on banjo & vocal harmony (Cody)
and Pat Moore on bass and vocals (Maple Hill / The Monroe Sisters)
It’s a heck of a line-up and we had so much fun we decided to put all that practice to the stage at Bluegrass Wednesdays on July 8. Come on out to Red Bird and catch “Bank and Fourth Bluegrass” Post concert bluegrass jam starts right after the show and goes to 11pm. Bring your instrument, voice, and/or ears. Ticket link to come!
