Chamberfest welcomes back celebrated santur specialist Amir Amiri following his hit performance with the Amir Amiri Ensemble in 2023. This evening, he is joined by tabla performer Shawn Mativetsky and harpist Sarah Pagé for a programme of daring and delectable music. Mativetsky, Amiri, and Pagé have come together to forge a remarkable trio in which multiple musical traditions are recontextualized. Using rhythmically imaginative tabla, a custom-built santur, and processed concert harp, the group creates stirring music for emergent sonic worlds. This evening's programme features complex melodies referencing Persian music and chamber jazz, seamlessly interwoven with inventive Hindustani rhythms that are at once intense and inviting.

Catch this grooving ensemble ahead of the release of their debut album, Metamorphose, which is sure to make waves in both traditional and non-traditional chamber music circles. Expect an evening of visceral sound, with strings hammered and plucked, skins struck and thrumming.
