Determined to forge different paths and create new things, the Poiesis Quartet is fresh on the international chamber music scene and making waves. This ensemble has already picked up numerous international prizes, including first prize at the Banff International String Quartet Competition in 2025.
With a focus on expanding the chamber music repertoire and spearheading campaigns like the Oberlin Commission Project that champions new works from LGBTQ+ composers of colour, this ensemble has made it clear that they aim to shake up the status quo. And their philosophical mission is backed up by their deft artistic performance, too. Praised for their multifaceted artistry and brilliantly idiomatic programming, these four young musicians display keen musical acuity that matches their cutting-edge mindset.
Catch Poiesis's other festival performance on Thursday, July 30 at 12PM alongside Jon Kimura Parker!
