Featuring: Red Fox, Mars Aspen, & Strawberry Fields Forever
The beloved Indie Folk Series continues with a wintry concoction of the magnetic Montreal-based band Red Fox, endearing local act Mars Aspen, and the fresh new multiinstrumental duo, Strawberry Fields Forever (Charlotte Rajšić, Nisse Anonby of Loch Nisse Monster). Presented by Loch Monster Media.
Red Fox:
Based out of Montreal, Quebec, RedFox is a high energy folk band, focusing on contemporary and traditional blends with an emo twist. They are a five piece ensemble consisting of violin, banjo, guitar, bass and drums, led by Daphnée Vandal's dynamic voice. Their current discography includes 2023 CFMA award winning full length album “Stranger Love”, achieved with support from the Canada Council for the Arts, a second full length album "Letters in Violet", as well as two previous four track EPs.
RedFox has performed on a number of major Canadian festival stages including Frank Turner's Lost Evenings Festival (2024), Montreal Canal Fest (2024), Kingsville Folk Fest (2024), Stewart Park Fest (2024), Mariposa Folk Festival (2022), Summerfolk Music Festival (2022, 2023), Ottawa City Folk (2023), Kemptville Live Music Festival (2018, 2019, 2022, 2023), and more. In 2023, the group completed a 17 date tour of the United Kingdom, and 12 dates of the Canadian Maritimes. Most recently, the band spent the summer of 2024 touring their recently released full-length album "Letters in Violet" across Canada.
Mars Aspen:
mars aspen is an emerging singer/songwriter currently based in ottawa, canada. they combine aspects of indie folk, alternative rock, and bedroom pop to create their own sound that draws from beloved influences such as dodie, fiona apple, and lizzy mcalpine. through saccharine sweet vocals and heartfelt concepts, they invite any and all listeners to find a new home within their sound.
Strawberry Fields Forever:
Taking you out to strawberry fields since 2025, the multi-instrumentalist duo Strawberry Fields Forever consists of Charlotte Rajšić and Nisse Anonby. Concocting a jam of indie, folk, and pop music, the duo bonded immediately upon first playing together, eventually forming under the name inspired by the famous 60's tune. The two pick up and play whatever is on hand: piano, flute, guitar, drums, and always an enchanting couple of voices blending in harmony. You'll find Strawberry Fields on a stage or in the wild, playing old-time classics, niche modern picks, and original compositions.
