As part of our Women in Folk International Women’s Day weekend, we are proud to present an intimate co-bill performance featuring Connie Kaldor and Jenny Whiteley—two extraordinary artists whose voices and stories have helped shape the folk music landscape in Canada and beyond.

Women in Folk is a three-night celebration honoring women’s artistry, leadership, and resilience in the music industry. As a women-owned business, creating space to uplift women in music is central to who we are, and this opening night sets the tone for a weekend rooted in storytelling, connection, and community.

Connie Kaldor, celebrating 45 years in music, is a pioneering force in Canadian folk. Emerging alongside artists such as Stan Rogers and Valdy, she has become a beloved festival headliner known for her commanding stage presence, unforgettable melodies, and deeply emotional songwriting. A three-time Juno Award winner and member of the Order of Canada, Connie continues to captivate audiences with performances that are, as the Boston Globe writes, “wildly funny one moment, deeply personal the next.”

Jenny Whiteley brings striking vocals and fearless songwriting that have earned comparisons to Emmylou Harris and Lucinda Williams. Raised in the heart of Toronto’s folk scene, Jenny launched a solo career that quickly garnered critical acclaim, winning Juno Awards for both her debut album and its follow-up Hopetown. A sought-after collaborator and seasoned performer, she has appeared at nearly every major folk festival in Canada and continues to deliver deeply human, genre-bending songs rooted in authenticity.

Together, Connie Kaldor and Jenny Whiteley offer a powerful opening night to our Women in Folk celebration—an evening of exceptional songwriting, shared history, and the enduring strength of women’s voices in folk music.

We are also proud to support Voice Found, a charity dedicated to survivors of human trafficking and childhood sexual abuse. Rooted in lived experience, Voice Found provides vital recovery support and works to drive meaningful, survivor-centered change. $3 from every ticket sold will be donated to Voice Found, with additional donations welcomed throughout the evening.
