Le Vent du Nord is back with a new concert directed by Michel Faubert. Still inspired by the success of their 2022 international tour, 20 Printemps (with 100,000 tickets sold, a 2022 Félix, a 2023 Opus, and a 2023 Songlines Music Award – Americas), the legendary quintet of singers and multi-instrumentalists will perform songs from their 13th album, Voisinages. Expect five-part harmony, foot-tapping tunes, and the sounds of the hurdy-gurdy, bouzouki, Quebec bombard, violin, and accordion, all showcasing the richness, vitality, and inventiveness of Quebec’s traditional music. This is a show where you can let yourself go, get up and dance, feel the emotional power of the lyrics, and recharge your batteries thanks to the infectious energy of these perennial yet deep-rooted travellers.
This time, Le Vent du Nord tackles the theme of neighbourhoods, a universal source of inspiration. The group opens its doors and promotes good neighbourliness and neighbourhoods whose musical heritage enriches their repertoire, including Irish and Scottish Celtic music, American folk, and songs from Acadia and Francophone communities in America. Those bound by rivers, those that bear witness to history: battles won or lost, misdeeds, losses, friendship, and, above all, love. An invitation to discover a world of humanity!
