After living and performing in Europe, Canadian-Norwegian singer-songwriter and guitarist Terry Baine brings his Interplanetary Asylum Seeker Tour to Canada (and to The Rainbow) for his first concert in Ottawa in over 25 years. Baine’s songwriting uses a mix of folk, rock and blues to take us on intricate lyrical journeys.
“Terry Baine is a wandering minstrel of the world and chronicles what he sees in song…”
Sandra Abma, CBC Radio
“Terry Baine is a multi-faceted musician who uses his powerful voice and his grace and elegance on the guitar to communicate his music. An engaged and engaging singer-songwriter with a great talent for both storytelling and composing.“
Jon Arnesen, Rock Furore Magazine, Norway
Performing with Terry Baine at The Rainbow will be the musicians who performed on Baine’s latest album, Waiting For Euterpe: Toronto guitarist John Fraser Findlay plus Ottawa’s own Lou Rankin on bass and Gord Finley on drums. Waiting For Euterpe is now being released in a vinyl version and will available for the first time in Canada at this concert.
About Terry Baine:
Originally from Hamilton, Terry Baine moved to Ottawa in 1985 and started performing at various local clubs while simultaneously working as a teacher at St. Pius X High School. And it was here in Ottawa in 1988 that Terry first teamed with legendary Ottawa music producer and bassist Phillip Victor Bova (Bova Sound) to produce and record his first two albums: Fourth World (1989) and Hamilton Operator (1998). Since that time, and even after Baine had settled in Europe, Bova has continued to produce and record Terry Baine’s albums: A Little Madness (2022) and most recently, Waiting For Euterpe, released January, 2025. In addition, the Bova-produced and recorded single Pinball Wizard was released in April, 2025.
From his base in Norway, Terry Baine continues writing, recording and performing. And, since mid-2022, he has been collaborating with award-winning UK filmmaker Raphael Assaf, who has directed two of Baine's most recent music videos.
