CARLETON UNIVERSITY'S CONCRETE CANOE TEAM is an interdisciplinary student design team that engineers and builds canoes from concrete to compete in the Canadian National Concrete Canoe Competition, teaching students practical skills in materials science, project management, and teamwork while tackling the challenge of making concrete float, often involving students from Civil, Mechanical, and Aerospace Engineering. The team gains hands-on experience in concrete mix design, fabrication, and technical presentation, with a strong focus on innovation, learning from failure, and preparing for real-world engineering challenges.
