'Slo’ Tom is a Canadian songwriter best known as one third of seminal punk/alt-rock band FURNACEFACE. He has spent the last decade performing solo and with his country band Slo’ Tom & the Handsome Devils. Tom’s band burst upon the 1990’s punk/alternative scene and soon became a nationally known entity releasing five albums, with major label distribution, videos with heavy rotation on Much Music, multiple CMVA awards, and a dozen national tours. Formally recognized from Furnaceface, Tom has spent a decade reinventing himself as a songwriter and performer in the genre of his first love – hard core country music. “I’m trying to create music that is honest, original, and a bit different from anything else that is going on in the whole ‘alt country’ scene. Call me crazy, but I like to think I balance songwriting, entertainment value, and weirdness unlike anyone else.” Tom has released five albums and has three more “in the can”.
