Carine Au Micro is a Montréal-based, Benin-born soul artist whose bold musical signature blends contemporary soul with vibrant African sounds. She fell in love with music as a child, influenced by her parents—especially her mother—and cut her teeth as a performer in Europe (France, 1998), where she collaborated with rising voices on the local scene. When she arrived in Quebec in 2004, Carine joined the Imani Gospel Singers, a stepping stone into Montréal’s music community. In 2013, she performed in The Mahalia Jackson Musical at Montréal’s Segal Centre, alongside JUNO Award–winning jazz artist Ranee Lee. This collaboration was a turning point in Carine’s career. Encounters with major figures like Lorraine Klaasen, Noel Mpiaza and David Mobio soon paved the way for her official debut as a professional artist. Her first EP, O La Si, came out in 2018 and, in October 2022, she launched her debut album Doto N'Ase, with support from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts de Montréal. December 2025 ushered in a new milestone for Carine au Micro, with the release of her single “Loin des yeux, près du cœur,” in collaboration with Senegalese hip-hop legends Daara J Family.
